Cinematography World is a new publication with a global perspective on cinematography. The magazine’s editor, cinematographer Ron Prince, formerly of British Cinematographer, writes “Cinematography World embraces the global community of cinematographers and their collaborators involved in the art and craft of visual storytelling.”
PERG has already enjoyed the publication’s sense of collaboration. In January, Cinematography World reached out to PERG asking to how things are going in the trenches at rental companies. PERG spoke with five member companies to take the pulse and ponder the future, contributing to Michael Goldman’s piece titled The Industry Lens.
Price explains how his publication aims to encompass more of the cinematography eco system, with greater attention to industry partners. “In terms of the word “world” we will be not only be more geographically diverse in our coverage, but also that we will cover more of the people and organizations who collaborate together with cinematographers on productions. We all know that production is a team effort, and we want to champion and celebrate the team players.”
Cinematography World will deliver six printed editions per year and is also available in digital format. The print edition is complemented by an online version featuring additional exclusive content and a monthly newsletter.
In his editorial column, Price writes “Please feel free to get in touch. Please keep sending us your news and let us know about the interesting, exciting and innovative projects you are working on, that you hold dear to your heart. And we will do our very best to give you, or your organization, the credit you deserve.”
