PERG has partnered with Filmscape Chicago to facilitate training specifically for lighting and grip rental company service technicians as part of the Filmscape Chicago trade show scheduled for June 2023. It is too early to announce the final line up, but among the courses being considered are certification-level training for ballasts and LEDs, which are envisioned as two 8-hour hands-on courses. Shorter classes will also be available covering QC, firmware, and repairs from Astera, Kino Flo, Creamsource, Litegear, and Ratpac. Other demonstrations and repair classes are to be offered by Hubbel, American Grip, Luminex and Rag Time.
PERG members will receive discounted rates for the training. The training takes place in the two days (June 22—23) leading up to the Filmscape trade show (June 24-25), at which there will be countless other educational demos, training sessions, and networking events.
Like the Duclos Lens Tech Training, this is an excellent opportunity for service technicians to network and increase the resources and contacts.
