Save the Date! Upcoming Virtual Training Tailored to Rental Companies
July 20 and 21, Filmscape is planning a jam-packed schedule of virtual education sessions tailored for rental companies. The 60- to 90-minute sessions will be a mixture of service-oriented training and product orientation. There will be two tracks of training: one for lighting and grip, and one for camera and lenses. The lineup is currently being finalized. Filmscape and PERG will make formal announcements with full course details soon.

PERG recently posted two new Coffee Breaks on YouTube taking a deep dive into the state of the art of Battery Packs intended for set power. On June 20 PERG presented the first in a series of Coffee Breaks (virtual meetings) dedicated to the topic of battery technology as a potential means of reducing carbon footprint. Titled The Power of Right-Sizing Generators with Valid Manufacturing, the Zoom meeting featured Marketing Coordinator Kamela Cosacchi and Mechanical Engineer Ron Sansom. They shared data they have collected comparing their hybrid solution—a battery power pack in tandem with a Tier 4 diesel generator, to traditional generators. Read more...
Andrew Hutton is Anton/Bauer’s Product Manager for Batteries. On June 27 PERG hosted a Coffee Break led by Andrew titled The Future of Power with Anton/Bauer. The session gave attendees the long view that Anton/Bauer is taking in developing the Salt-E Dog. Read more...
On June 22-23, sixteen rental service technicians received two full days of maintenance education from ARRIs’ trainers as part of Filmscape’s Rental Days. The technicians learned parts replacement for SkyPanels and M-series HMI heads. The training is part of PERG’s ongoing partnership with Filmscape to provide training opportunities to rental companies at low cost. Read more...
PERG had a great turnout for the breakfast held on Saturday morning before the CineGear show opened. Over 100 PERG members and guests attended the breakfast, which was held at a café across the street from Paramount Studios on the Raleigh Studios lot. A full breakfast was served along with espresso drinks. With people’s time freed up by the writer’s strike, the CineGear show was very well attended. Read more...
